Artsfish Design Studio shop

The Artsfish Design Studio shop is now re-designed and online. We had too many tech and design issues with the previous ecommerce site, which I built with Cartweaver, a plugin for Dreamweaver. Cartweaver wasn’t horrible, but I found it to be limited in both it’s interface and its flexibility. (plus it’s relatively expensive, and the upgrades are expensive as well!)

I tried to wrangle a shop in Wordpress, but the idea of ecommerce blogging is too new and the options were also too limited.

I finally settled on Zen Cart, and I’m glad I did. The administration interface isn’t terribly intuitive, but it gave me the flexibility and options I needed, so I’m thrilled! Plus, it’s open source program! My server is happy, I’m happy….hopefully my customers will be happy.

Now I just need to get in the studio and design some more jewelry! I have some wonderful materials from all over the world as well as gemstones, gold and silver.

My sister gave me an old kiln she had packed away for years, so I plan to experiment with enameling as well as Precious Metal Clay, (PMC)

Sometime down the road I’d love to get out my brushes and oils and get back to the canvas, but I don’t see that happening in the immediate future. If you’re interested you can see some of my previous paintings HERE.
